After several months in the ICU center, The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State may not recover from their monumental injuries anytime soon, and it appears their episode of comic relief requires medical mental health attention.
The lawmaker representing Irepodun/Orolu State Constituency, Honourable Adekunle Oladimeji, made this assertion while reacting to and refuting an online publication by the APC claiming that he had perfected plans to defect to the party.
In a statement released and signed by the Deputy Majority Leader and Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Honourable Adekunle Oladimeji described the claim of his defection as mischievous, laughable, and defamatory, and vowed to institute legal action against the writer and publishers.
According to him, there was never a time he had a meeting with any members or executives of the APC in the state, let alone planning to join a political party that left behind monumental deficit and dilapidated structures in Osun State during its twelve years of misrule.
He held that no reasonable group or individual would think of leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the workaholic administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
He urged the general public to disregard the APC's claim about his defection rumors. "I want to reiterate my loyalty and allegiance to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Osun State House of Assembly Speaker Right Honourable Adewale Egbedun, and the people of Irepodun/Orolu State Constituency.
