The 2025 edition of the One Service, One Medal Games will officially begin on Thursday, April 24, in Abuja, bringing together athletes from Nigeria’s armed forces and paramilitary services for a week-long sports festival.
In a statement on Monday, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Kehinde Ajayi, said the Games would run from April 23 to 29 at various venues in the Federal Capital Territory.
“The events will take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Jabi Lake, Old Parade Ground, Nigeria Air Force Base, and the FIFA Goal Project,” the statement read.
Fifteen sports will feature in this year’s edition, including athletics, football, boxing, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, beach volleyball, karate, squash, and tug of war.
Ajayi said the Games aim to promote discipline, unity, and cooperation among members of Nigeria’s security and paramilitary agencies.
The closing ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, at the main bowl of the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
