The attention of the Management of Osun State College of Technology (OSCOTECH), Esa-Oke, has been drawn to a misleading publication circulated by an unidentified online platform, alleging that the institution has sacked its contract staff and intends to replace them with members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Management categorically states that no contract staff of the institution has been sacked. Rather, all contract staff were subjected to a routine screening exercise after it was discovered that many of them were engaged in dual employment. Contract staff who were not adversely affected by the screening exercise have already been scheduled to commence the collection of their engagement letters from Monday, 2nd February 2026. Any report suggesting otherwise is false, misleading, and deliberately crafted to misinform the public.
Furthermore, Management clarifies that the courtesy visit led by the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prince Diran Odeyemi, to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede was solely to solicit the posting of medical corps members to support critical healthcare services within the institution. This initiative was particularly aimed at strengthening medical services in preparation for ongoing and forthcoming accreditation exercises. At no time was the visit intended to recruit corps members to replace any existing staff.
Management also notes that some individuals previously engaged under the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) arrangement were already gainfully employed elsewhere. This development necessitated the screening exercise, which was conducted strictly to create room for qualified personnel who can be properly absorbed to fill existing gaps and enhance effective service delivery.
It is therefore illogical and unfounded to suggest that OSCOTECH would disengage its IGR or contract staff only to replace them with corps members, whose service is temporary by nature.
The Management of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, hereby dissociates itself entirely from this obnoxious, malicious, and unfounded publication and urges members of the public to disregard it in its entirety.

Fatai Tijani

Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke
