Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has adjusted the 24-hour curfew imposed on Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun, reducing it to a 17-hour restriction from 2 PM to 7 AM daily.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor announced that the new curfew schedule will take effect from Friday, March 28, 2025, until further notice.
Governor Adeleke explained that the decision aims to ease the hardship faced by residents, allowing them time to attend to their essential needs while ensuring security is maintained.
While acknowledging the reduction in hostilities, he expressed concern over a recent killing that led to an arrest by the police. He warned that anyone instigating violence would face the full weight of the law.
The governor also instructed the joint security taskforce to continue its 24-hour surveillance to prevent any further unrest. Additionally, he directed the state emergency agency to intensify relief efforts for displaced residents.
